Below is a menu of wildflowers that
are found in central Texas. I bought my wife a digital camera and
I got bored
one day and
started playing
with it. I started playing with
taking close-up photographs of
wildflowers. I accidentally
got
a few really nice
shots.
I kept playing
with the
camera
and photographing
wildflowers became an obession,
as
you
will see on the following pages.
I also
have to know what I am
photographing so
I
bought
a few books on
wild
flowers.
If I have
anything mislabeled please
let me
know.
If you are
looking to identify flowers that you have
photographed, I think that you
will find this site invaluable
due
to the
multiple shots of each flower that are
pre
sented.
I have grouped
the
flowers according to
color since it is easiest to find them
this way.
I have been using Google's free photo software, Picassa. I've looked
at numerous photo software packages and
Picassa is
the best for
organization and it has excellent editing features
also. Click Here to see a screen
shot from
my pc. It allows me
to add the name, genus,
species and other information
about each flower. Below are links to the books that I have
been using.
I'm using a Sony Cybershot DSC-W5
camera for the photos. It may be inexpensive but it gets the job done.
Enjoy!
